The difference between a pro photographer to a nonpro

For any special event in your life, you’re looking for a photographer. Someone to catch your happiest moments and make them forever alive on photography. Someone to show how wonderful your wedding day was. Or how good a deal you closed on a corporate event. Even your birthdays, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, baby showers. All of those events deserve to be remembered and shown many years later. Now, anyone that has a camera, whether on the phone, tablet or even a professional photographer camera, can take those pictures. You might be thinking to yourself, why would you pay for a pro photographer among all the other expenses when your cousin or a neighbor has such a good camera and a talent for photography.

We will point out a couple of main differences between a pro and a nonpro photographer, and you tell us if it is worth saving a couple of dollars.

Nonpro photographer pros and cons

Well, the apparent pro for a nonpro photographer is the price. If it’s someone closely related to you, most likely, they will do it for free. If you hire someone who has a 9-5 job but likes photography and has some spare time on weekends, it’ll cost you on average $25 to $100 per hour. Other than that, a nonpro photographer can be extremely enthusiastic about the job, which makes you feel better being around them.

On the other hand, since amateur photographers lack experience, it can happen that your photos won’t be as you thought. The equipment might be the same, and your amateur photographer can be very well prepared for the event, but due to the lack of experience, they might not know what lens to use or from which angle to take a picture. Also, you can never be fully relaxed with a nonpro that everything will be perfect. And having an even such wedding mentioned above, baby shower, etc., is stressful enough. There is no need to think about the quality of pictures later. After the photos are all taken, there is post-processing and editing. If you hired the cousin mentioned above or neighbor, there is no editing. You will get photos as they are. And if you have an amateur photographer at your disposal, there is a question of whether he has all the programs and knows all the techniques to make your photos magical as you deserved!

Pro photographer pros and cons

Based on everything said above, you can already conclude. With a pro photographer, you can have peace of mind knowing that everything will be done precisely as it should. Since the person has more experience, they will find an angle that makes you look good. The photos themselves will be of the highest quality. And most importantly, you can get your photos delivered originally – not as photos, but for example, like magnets. Imagine having your guests going home with magnets they can put on their fridge and always be reminded of your event! Sounds amazing. More than that, your event will be remembered for sure, and if you needed a photographer for any business purpose, your clients would remain under the impression after the night.

Here we might list the price when it comes to cons since typically, professional photographers are charging $100 to $250 per hour.

After putting all this on the paper, ask yourself, is uniqueness worth saving a couple of hundreds of dollars?
